I’ve tried and failed. Several times. So why try again?
I’m too old now. If I was younger, I might. But, I’m past my prime.
And besides, I can’t do it myself. And I doubt anyone would want to help me.
These three excuses have kept more people from trying, more people from succeeding, and more people from a richly rewarding life than we can ever imagine.

Sunday evening Norma Jean and I were watching Mike Huckabee’s program. I always like his opening monologues. They’re refreshing. Value-driven. And filled with common sense.
Sunday evening he was talking about the “embarrassing spectacle” caused by New York politicians former Congressman Anthony Weiner who is running for Mayor and former governor Eliot Spitzer who is vying for the job of City Comptroller. What a pair! A pervert. And a cheater who frequented prostitutes.
But I’m so tired of hearing about these immoral politicians, I was about to tune Governor Huckabee out when he asked an important and probing question, “What has happened to the simple virtue of shame?” Continue reading

The Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the “Seven Wonders of the World.” It is called “the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage.”
The Temple’s inspiration was supposedly based on the great love the Moguel emperor Shah Jahn had for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. When she died he was devastated. Grief stricken, he ordered this edifice erected as her final resting place. No expense would be spared in honoring his beloved. Continue reading

He may not be the “Second Coming,” but his Mom thinks he’s pretty special! And she believes she has the right to name her baby whatever she chooses!
Jalessa Martin, a Newport, Tennessee woman, recently sought a court order to establish paternity for her baby boy. The request also included a ruling on the child’s last name, since Jalessa and the boy’s father couldn’t agree.
However, Child Support Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew ordered the child’s first name changed when she learned the mother had named him “Messiah.” Continue reading

Jason Greenslate. He’s the most recent “poster-child” of what’s broken in American society.
During an investigation into the record number of food stamp recipients, Fox News reporter John Roberts met Greenslate, a surfer and rocker, who is living the self-described “Rattlife” in San Diego.
Although Jason attended college and is a trained recording engineer, he told Roberts he has no paycheck because holding down a steady job isn’t for him. So, the 29-year old “suffer dude” signed up for SNAP. He receives $200 a month in taxpayer money for food. Greenslate simply said, “I don’t got a paycheck coming in, so I qualify.” Continue reading

Sean and Hannah Gastonguay were fed up.
They were fed up with governmental intrusion in their lives. Fed up with moral state of America. Fed up with unfair taxation. Hannah said as Christians they don’t believe in ‘‘abortion, homosexuality, in the state-controlled church.” U.S. ‘‘churches aren’t their own,’’ Gastonguay said, suggesting that government regulation interfered with religious independence.
