About

Several years ago when we were living in Palmetto, Florida, the Mayor, Toby Holland, dubbed me with the nickname “preacherman.” It was fitting. I am a preacher. It’s not only what I do. It’s who I am. I’ve been preaching since High School. For over 40 years I’ve been a preacherman. It’s my email address. preacherman@weliever.net

So, when I decided to start a blog it seemed natural to call it ThePreachersWord. I hope, like the ancient Preacher of Ecclesiastes,  I can “find delightful words and to write words of truth correctly” (Eccl 12:10).

Of course, my goal for ThePreachersWord is to accurately reflect God’s Word.  To encourage. To edify. And to enlighten.  Expect for some holiday breaks, we typically publish a new post 5 days a week.

For more personal and background information, see my bio page.  Also, we now have a tab at the top of the blog site with our schedule for the year, and frequently asked questions (FAQ’s).

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you will be a regular, if not daily reader of ThePreachersWord.

You have an excellent site. Very eye catching and obviously you have put some time and thought in its development. Kudos….if your goal is to shed the light of the Gospel — mission accomplished! Fellow blogger-in-development, preacher, and Christian — PD Chap

    Dear Brother Weliever,

Thank you for your daily lessons on this blog. I start every day reading your blog! I look forward to it.

I enjoy the story’s at the beginning. I believe usually a true story, and then a bible lesson following. This gives people an example to follow with bible truths following.

Today’s lesson is powerful! It’s so simple: treat others as you yourself want to be treated. If we could all do this in honesty, sincerity, and love for all our brothers & sisters in Christ as well as all mankind, we wouldn’t have so much pain in this life.

Thank you for the daily food of the Word and all your work preparing a daily read. I appreciate it very much!

  6. Hi Ken,

May I suggest that you significantly reduce or even eliminate your use of exclamation points?
At best, it makes your writing appear unprofessional. At worst, it looks like sensationalism and makes people not take you seriously.

    • Well, I will keep an eye on the overuse. Didn’t realize I was doing that. But there is none on this “about” page. So that is good, eh?

      • Today was my first visit to your site. Someone pointed me to your Bruce Jenner article. By Microsoft’s count, that article contains eight exclamation points. Their use may pump up those who agree with you, but tend to discredit you in the eyes of those who don’t. I suggest reading anything by Gary Henry as an example of excellent content coupled with superb writing.

      • Gary is an excellent writer. I get his daily devos. I probably will never get that good, but thank you for your concern and good advice. I can always improve.

    Preach 1 Corinthians 6:9-12..Luke 13…Revelation 22:15
    Matthew 7:13-23..1 Corinthians 5..Galatians 5:13-26 too.
People today are now just “spiritual” not Biblical and love
to rail against the homosexuals..politicians..abortions so
their sin doesn’t seem as bad when Bible says that people
    who get drunk,gossip,covet/gamble,be mean,sleep around
go to hell too with all of the greedy jealous idolaters as well.
