For over a year I have written a column every Friday on ThePreachersWord called IT’S FRIDAY.  BUT SUNDAY’S COMING!  It has spoken to some aspect of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus as it relates to our lives today.

Well, it’s Friday.  But today’s post is different.

ThePreachersWord is taking a break for a week!  Norma Jean and I are celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary today!  So, we are off on a week’s vacation to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

I promised Norma Jean that on this trip I wouldn’t do any blogging!  I’m not even taking my computer!  So, no emails. No facebook.  No surfing the web. No posts on this site until September 2nd.

In the meantime I would like to ask a favor of our readers.  And try a little experiment.

In the column to the right of this post you see a list of categories.  There are over 100.  Today, pick a topic that interests you.  Then share that post with a friend via email.  There is a place at the bottom of the post for you to email a column to someone with your comments and/or recommendation that they sign up.

Every day next week log on to this site and pick another category for your daily devotion.  If you find it helpful, also share with someone else.

When we return, I will be looking for three things.

(1) It will be interesting to see how many read ThePreachersWord while we’re away and not publishing new posts.

(2) I want to see what topics and past posts you are reading and which ones have the greatest amount of interest.

(3) I wonder how many new readers we can add while we are away?

Thank all of your for reading ThePreachersWord.  For your encouragement.  Kind words.  And helpful comments you post.  I sincerely appreciated it.

Well, I need to finish packing!  Have a great day!  Good bye until September.

If you missed the column I did on some things we’ve learned in 45 years of  marriage a couple of weeks ago, here’s the link.

Have a blessed week with your wife, Ken, and I’ll check back in to read more, per your suggestion! I’ll enjoy reading about your week off, when you return!

Happy Anniversary Ken!! I truly appreciate that you do for the LORD and HIS people!!

  3. Congratulations on your Anniversary:), and enjoy the Rockies! We just returned from Glacier/Yellowstone tour. The first thing I thought of when I saw the pic of today’s post was a place in Glacier we stop at everytime we go-it’s on “Many Glaciers” road. So peaceful & beautiful-makes you feel so much CLOSER to God-physically as well as Spiritually…lol. Peace to you both!

and Norma’s faith will be fortified by the scenery. I’m guessing you will feel compelled to write about God’s creation when you return….Anyway, happy anniversary.
