5 Reasons Why I Don’t Play the Lottery

Powerball

“With all of the current hoopla about the Powerball, I’m curious on your take scripturally on the lottery,” wrote Heidi, one of our regular readers.

Heidi adds her thoughts saying, “I know many Christians who don’t see anything wrong with it. I wouldn’t want to risk my soul on getting rich quick. I sure could use the money but even $450 million is not worth losing my soul over.” Continue reading

Resolution is also good for Christians. As we begin a new year here are some resolutions you might want to consider. Continue reading

Does Sin Negate the Christian Faith?

As we finish the year we conclude with the #1 post of 2015 in terms of reader views. As you read, regardless of your personal feelings about the Duggars, the principle of this post is Biblical and unchanged.

Duggars

Last night Norma Jean and I watched Megyn Kelly’s exclusive interview with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar as they discussed the child molestation charges against their son, Josh.

Leading up to the interview we saw clips of the intense criticism toward the Duggar family from various news outlets. They have been called “hypocrites” and much worse. The vitriolic venom emanating from some sources has been excoriating.

7 Things Unchanged by The Supreme Court

This June post was very popular with our readers and was shared hundreds of times on facebook. It was the second most read for 2015.

supreme court2

Even if you’re not a “news junkie” by now everyone has heard that the Supreme Court of the United States ruled Friday that same-sex marriage is legal is all 50 states.

The reaction has been swift and predictable.  Homosexuals and liberals are ecstatic. Conservatives and Bible Believers have denounced the decision.

Joe Ortwert of the Missouri Family Policy Council, called the decision ”a reckless ruling that will have a devastating impact on the future of our nation.  This disgraceful decision is the latest most evident sign of the moral bankruptcy of the U. S. Government, the moral corruption of its leaders, the vile decadence of American culture and society, and the growing godlessness of the American people.”

Discord Among Brethren

Perhaps you’ve heard the story about a man who was stranded on a desert island for many, many years. One day, while strolling along the beach, he spotted a ship in the distance. This had never happened in all the time he was on the island, so he was very excited about the chance of being rescued.

Immediately, he built a fire on the beach and generated as much smoke as possible. It worked! Soon, the ship was heading his way. When the ship was close enough to the island, a dinghy was dispatched to investigate the situation. The man on the island was overjoyed with the chance to be rescued and met his saviors as they landed.

By now only the most isolated of people and the Amish, as reported by Jesse Watters last night, have not heard that Bruce Jenner is now a woman!

In the past several days Jenner has been lauded as courageous by most of the Hollywood elite, the liberal media and even the President of the United States. After Jenner changed his name  and sent out his first Tweet on his new Twitter account, President Obama retweeted it with this comment, “It takes courage to share your story.”

Pansexual? Yes. In 60+ years on earth I’ve never heard of a pansexual. I guess I live too sheltered a life! So, of course, I googled it.
