Wake up America

Yahoo reports this morning that President Obama plans to name the iconic New York Stonewall Inn, where the “Gay Rights” movement supposedly began, as a national monument.

Tuesday, voters in my home state of Indiana overwhelming cast their ballots for Donald Trump, an egomaniac, immoral, narcissist, who has been named as the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party for President of the United States.

The Democratic party is still in a battle for their nominee–a choice between an cranky socialist and a cackly criminal. Continue reading →

Great Verses of the Bible: Matthew 7:12

Several years ago a movie was released called “Pay It Forward,” based on the novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde. It stars Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt and the adorable Haley Joel Osment, as a 12-year-old boy, Trevor McKinney

In the movie, Trevor is given an assignment by his social studies teacher, Mr. Simonet, to find a way to change the world and put it into action. Trevor conjures up the notion of paying a favor not back, but forward. In other words to repay good deeds not with payback, but with new good deeds done to three new people. Word of the Week: Legacy

Sixteen year old Hannah was nervous as she took the wheel for her first driving lesson. As she was pulling out of the parking lot, the instructor said, “Turn left here.” Then quickly added, “Oh, and don’t forget to let the people behind you know what you are doing.”

Immediately Hannah turned to the students sitting in the backseat and announced, “I’m turning left.”

Although Hannah misunderstood the teacher’s instructions, his advice is good not just for driving, but for life. “Let the people behind you know what you are doing.” Continue reading →

Today Time Magazine released its annual list of the top 100 influential people in the world. The entertainment world is heavily featured, with artists on four of the six covers.

Oscar winner, Leonardo diCaprio, Musical artist Nicki Minaj, Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra. Tuesday night Norma Jean and I enjoyed a Royals baseball game at Kaufman Stadium (known as “The K” to the locals). It was a fun game with filled with offense in an 8-6 Royals win over the Detroit Tigers.
