Who’s Deceived? Who’s Tortured?

“We need to shut them down,” cried Senator Elizabeth Warren. “You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that.”

What? Has the liberal Senator from Massachusetts changed from Pro-Choice to Pro-Life? Is she now against abortion? And ready to shut down abortion clinics?

Hardly.

Speaking with reporters Tuesday and described as “visibly upset.” Here’s what the Senator said.

“In Massachusetts right now, those crisis pregnancy centers that are there to fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination help outnumber true abortion clinics by 3 to 1. We need to shut them down here in Massachusetts, and we need to shut them down all around the country. You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that.”

When I first saw this quote, I thought it was a joke. Torturing a pregnant woman? It must be a Babylonian Bee piece of satire?

You can watch the video for yourself.

Unbelievable.

I remember when Hillary Clinton and others on the left used to often parrot the phrase “Abortion ought to be safe, legal, and rare.” They claimed to be “pro-choice.” When actually they are fanatically and radically “pro-abortion.” “Pro-choice” would allow a pregnant woman to investigate, learn about, and consider another option to aborting her baby. Instead, Warren wants to “shut them down.”

In fact, she and three other Senators are promoting a bill in Congress to shut down these ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ which they claim “mislead and deceive patients seeking abortion care.”

Such reasoning seems such an insult to expectant mothers. How condescending is it to say a pregnant woman who wants an abortion is not intelligent enough to know that the counselors are providing information on how to care for and give birth to her baby? That they are deceived and tricked into having a child?

Furthermore, Pregnancy Crisis Centers provide maternity and baby items such as clothes, car seats, wipes, strollers, swings, baby formula, and diapers. In addition, they offer parenting and education classes on health and wellness. Those who support such organizations are fulfilling the Biblical injunction to “do good to all people” (Gal. 6:10).

We’ve written much through the years regarding the sin of abortion that you can access on ThePreachersWord. You can study the issue in more detail in other posts.

We can only offer this Biblical rejoinder to Warren’s absurd and twisted logic about what is torture and deception.

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!
–Isa. 5:2-21
