IT’S FRIDAY. BUT SUNDAY’S COMING! What’s Good About “Good Friday”?

Good-Friday-on-Cross

Can You Earn a Place in Heaven?

bloomberg

Country music artist, Alan Jackson, had a #1 hit song back in 2001 entitled “Where I Come From.” The refrain repeats these lyrics:

I said where I come from

It’s cornbread and chicken

Where I come from a lotta front porch sittin’

Where I come from tryin’ to make a livin’

And workin’ hard to get to heaven

Where I come from Continue reading

Heaven.4.Real

“Heaven is for Real” is a movie being released today in a theater near you! It’s the continuing trend of movies that Hollywood is producing to appeal to the “Christian market.”

The movie is based on the story of a 4-year old boy, Colton Burpo, who almost died on the operating table during emergency surgery. When he recovered, Colton claims that he went to heaven. Saw his own surgery. Observed the prayers of his anguished parents. And met Jesus. Continue reading

Matty’s dad, Matty Lovo, Sr, a semi-tractor-trailer driver, was hauling lumber through St. Helens, Oregon, when he had a seizure and lost consciousness. The semi veered into oncoming traffic. Stuck a utility pole. And seemed destined for a tragic accident.  Continue reading

Word of the Week: Character

Character.Buddys

My friend, Don Truex, shared a great story that came out of Wayne, New Jersey last Fall.

Four young men from the William Paterson University football team entered Buddy’s Small Lots to do a little shopping. Soon they realized no one else was in the store. Not even a sales clerk!  Continue reading
