Good Morning from The Great Smoky Mountains,

Norma Jean and I are enjoying the beauty of the fall foliage here at Cobbly Nob. The cooler temperatures.  Sitting by the fireplace. Eating out at some of our favorite restaurants.  And the fellowship of our brethren at Cosby.  Plus we’re getting to see several friends from out of state who’re visiting the mountains.

Good Morning from The Great Smoky Mountains

It’s that time year when “the mountains are calling.”

Norma Jean and i love the beauty of the fall foliage. The majesty of the mountains.  The cool, crisp mountain air.  Walks in the woods.  And relaxing on our favorite creek-side bench with a cup of hot coffee.  Eating breakfast either at Trish’s Mountain Diner or Crockett’s Breakfast Camp.  Being with our friends Olie and Mary Williamson and preaching for the Cosby Church. Good Morning from Citrus County, Florida

As a public service to our readers,  today, October 8th is World Migratory Bird Day. It’s also World Octopus Day.  As well as International African Penguin Awareness Day   You’re welcome.

If none of those days gets you in a celebratory mood, October 8th has plenty of other weird, wacky and unusual holidays.  Click here for more reasons to celebrate.

However, I will echo the words of the Psalmist.  “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps. 118:24).  That’s enough reason to celebrate life and the Lord’s blessings. Continue reading →

Good Moring from Beverly Hills, FL

Well, Fall is in the air in Florida.  The predicted  highs for the next 10 days are in the mid 80’s.  And lows in the upper 60’s.  We shall see. Anyway, it’s a nice break from the oppressive heat of summer.

Regardless of the weather, hot or not as hot, we blog onward.  We send out this Saturday post in case you missed one, so you can catch up.  It’s also a good way to share ThePreachersWord with your friends, either by email or on social media.

Good morning from Beverly Hills, Florida

After an extended “weekend” in Dallas where we saw many old friends and enjoyed speaking at the Legacy Weekend for the Campbell Road Church,  it’s good to be home for a little while. BTW, if you would like to listen to those lesson by myself and Max Dawson, click here.
