“Marriage is a lie,” she confidently asserted.
“It’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist,” as the audience wildly applauded.
“Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we’re going to do with marriage when we get there,” she added.
The speaker?
Masha Gessen, an activist for the gay community. In this video that has gone viral on the internet, she admits that the gay marriage agenda is a lie and calls for an end to the institution of marriage and redefining the “traditional family.”
She concludes that “ the institution of marriage should not exist. … ‘Marriage equality’ becomes ‘marriage elasticity,’ with the ultimate goal of ‘marriage extinction.’
If you’ve wondered how far our amoral culture could sink after promoting same-sex marriage, this gives you a glimpse. However, this is only a symptom of our real problem.
The real problem in America today is the removal of moral boundaries over the past fifty years. No one wants limits placed on their behavior anymore. So restrictions should be removed. Barriers eradicated. Restraints lifted.
And what has this philosophy produced? Over fifty million babies murdered through legalized abortion. And now we have a murder trial of abortion doctor, Kermit Gosnell, who ordered babies who survived botched abortions to have their spines severed and murdered.
The boundary of the sanctity of life has been removed.
The recent announcement we wrote about yesterday by NBA player, Jason Collins, that he was a homosexual has been received with glowing praise by everyone from his team mates to the President of the United States. Jason said that he just wanted to be happy.
The boundary of sexual purity has been removed.
And heterosexuals are no better when they discard their mates on a whim because they are tired, bored, or just not happy any more. They move on to another partner. The children suffer. And the Lord sighs.
The boundary of Gods marriage laws has been removed.
Because the boundaries are being destroyed, people today have replaced them with different “standards.”
Godliness is replaced by Individualism. The new mantra is “I must live for myself.” “Be true to myself.” “I can only know what is right and wrong for me.” It’s really saying that “I’m my own god.” This attitude is illustrated by a popular sitcom where a mother was advising her teen daughter about becoming sexually active. Her advice? “You will know when it is right for you.” Of course this is nothing new. In the days of the Judges “every man did what was right in his own eyes” (Jud. 21:25)
Spirituality is replaced by Secularism. Secularism seeks to keep religion out of public life. So for the past forty years we’ve systematically been removing God from schools, government, and media. And in some cases even churches! Ironically Tim Tebow is criticized for talking about Christianity and Jesus Christ. While Jason Collier is lauded and praise for admitting he is a homosexual. Truly our culture is quickly sinking to level of the Gentile world that the Bible describes in Romans 1:18-32 as “depraved.” “Debased.” “Defiled.”
Truth has been replaced by relativism. We are repeatedly told “there are no absolutes.” Which sound a bit like an absolute to me! It means that what is truth for me may not be truth for you. And what is truth for you may not be truth for me. It’s all relative. It’s a way to remove guilt. It’s lowering the bar so I can clear it and feel good about myself. The fact is this: Truth is narrow. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
With the moral boundaries being attacked and removed, what can Christians do? Don’t give in. Stand for truth. Reaffirm the Divine boundaries in your own life. And on this national day of prayer, pray fervently for the USA. Our country have forgotten God, but God has not forgotten us.
This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Jer 6:16)

Yesterday I said marriage itself may soon be declared archaic and unnecessary and today you report a gay activist who says exactly that and who has gone viral on the internet. Seems like the “rolling stone” not only gathers no moss but it gains momentum as it descends to the bottom of the swamp!

As I was reading your article I thought of David’s lament in Ps.11:3, “if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” David then proceeds to remind us that God is till on His thorne and is aware of what’s going on. He’s testing us to see how we stand against the tide of wickedness. vs.4-7.

I too, was sickened by our President lauding the praises of the LGBT community……as I contemplated the acts that they do that make them labeled as such……I was reminded of Lot whose righteous heart was vexed daily by the same kind of behavior observed among the inhabitants of Sodom and Gommorrah and the cities round about…….Then I reflected on Psalm 2…….God is not mocked…..bad companions corrupt good morals, and you will reap what you sow…..consider the words of the Lord….
Psalm 2
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed.
2 Why are the nations in an uproar
And the peoples devising a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!”
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs,
The Lord scoffs at them.
5 Then He will speak to them in His anger
And terrify them in His fury, saying,
6 “But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”
7 “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,
And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.
9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron,
You shall shatter them like earthenware.’”
10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;
Take warning, O judges of the earth.
11 Worship the Lord with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way,
For His wrath may soon be kindled.
How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

I disagree with your and other’s comments in the sense that any of this “stuff” is new. The sinful nature of man has never changed. This is why God’s Word is timeless and the need for the “Good News”.
While the Good News Message is timeless, Messengers do change. Christ constantly walked joyfully among some pretty low-life, and many of the Apostles didn’t like it. As Faith becomes more and more just irrelevant in society today, Christians need to think how we need to improve in our interactions.
I’m a big admirer of Dan Cathy (Chick Fil-a). Rick Warren (Purpose Driven Life) recently asked all Christians to read the below article on how Mr. Cathy is changing in his approach to gays (AND NOT HIS BELIEFS!) Our enemy is sin not people. Following Christ’s 2nd most important commandment is really hard, but He did give us a model of how to do it (as Mr. Cathy is doing). We need to be identified as what we are “for”, not simply what we are “against”.

This is a good post.
I only started reading your posts, Ken. I found you on Facebook, in the “Bible Scholars” room. I’m sure you can guess who I am on there, too. 🙂
Anyways, I hate how our country is becoming, as well. No one has any respect for God, the Bible, or anything else to do with Him. We are living in the “Dark Ages”, for sure.
