Kingdoms in Conflict

Kingdoms conflict

“Let’s get something straight,” columnist Cal Thomas recently wrote, “America has never been a ‘Christian nation.’”

While that statement may be shocking to some, it’s true. For those who disagree Thomas asks, “What part of our history was uniquely Christian? Was it when slavery was legal? How about when women were denied the vote? The Gilded Age? The Roaring ’20s?” Continue reading

Do We Need Another Revolution?

American Revolution

Today is a special day in history for all Americans. On this day, September 3, 1783, the Treaty of Paris was signed. It officially marked the end of The American Revolution.

Representatives of the United States, Great Britain, Spain and France met to sign this treaty which signified America’s status as a free nation. Britain agreed to formally recognize the independence of its 13 former American colonies. The boundaries of the new republic were agreed upon: Florida north to the Great Lakes and the Atlantic coast west to the Mississippi River. Continue reading

What Mr. Trump Should Have Said

Trump Kelly

Last Thursday night I joined 24 million other Americans and watched the Republican Presidential Debate on Fox News. While I did have two or three candidates that I was particularly interested in seeing, I admit I was curious what kind of fireworks Donald Trump would ignite! And it didn’t take long!

In the beginning Trump admitted that he would not commit to unconditional support the GOP nominee. Unless it was him! Then came Megyn Kelly’s question and Trump’s answer that people and pundits are still buzzing about. Continue reading

REFLECTIONS ON AMERICA’S BIRTHDAY

July 4 2015

I’m feeling a bit melancholy on this Saturday morning.

I probably shouldn’t feel this way, but I do. It’s a beautiful beginning to the day. It’s a very pleasant 60 degrees on my back porch. The sun is shining. Birds are chirping. Squirrels are scampering about the woods behind us. The deer are enjoying their morning “salt lick.” And the coffee is good.

Why don’t I feel in a celebratory mood? Continue reading

9 Ways I Define My Identity

KenPic“Nobody can control or define our identities unless we let them, and so I chose to come out and to define myself – nothing more.”

These words are by Bradley Manning, who now identifies himself as female named Chelsea.  Manning is serving 35 years in prison for espionage and has demanded “gender confirming healthcare” from the federal prison system.

Manning’s words express the current social trend toward personal self-expression and identity definition by homosexuals, bisexuals, lesbians, pansexuals, and transgenders

In fact, re-identification knows no boundaries.

Supreme Court Bible

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s narrow 5-4 decision to legalize same-sex marriage, there have been a rash of predictions and dire warnings about the impact this will have on religious freedom.

7 Things Unchanged by The Supreme Court

supreme court2

Even if you’re not a “news junkie” by now everyone has heard that the Supreme Court of the United States ruled Friday that same-sex marriage is legal is all 50 states.

The reaction has been swift and predictable.  Homosexuals and liberals are ecstatic. Conservatives and Bible Believers have denounced the decision.

Joe Ortwert of the Missouri Family Policy Council, called the decision ”a reckless ruling that will have a devastating impact on the future of our nation.  This disgraceful decision is the latest most evident sign of the moral bankruptcy of the U. S. Government, the moral corruption of its leaders, the vile decadence of American culture and society, and the growing godlessness of the American people.”  Continue reading

My Prayer For America

National Day of Prayer 2015

Today is the 64th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer.

According to NDP web site a joint resolution by Congress which was signed by President Harry Truman in 1952 declared an annual national day of prayer. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed an amended law that set aside the first Thursday of every May. Since then every President has signed a proclamation, encouraging Americans to pray on this day. GREAT VERSES OF THE BIBLE: Matthew 22:21

Render Unto Caesar

Today is April 15th. It’s tax time in the United States. It’s the deadline for filing your state and federal income taxes.

But it’s also a time when you hear resurrected phony arguments to relieve us from the responsibility of paying income taxes. In fact, “frivolous tax arguments” are so common that the IRS actually has an online resource listing the most common arguments and a legal refutation of each one. It consists of 56 pages! Here are just a few. Continue reading

Does God Ever Give up?

Gods Wrath

Is there ever a time when God looks down on the human race and gives up?

We would think not. God is a God of love. Mercy. Grace. Patience. Longsuffering and Forbearance. Surely, hope springs eternal in the heart of God. He can’t give up! Or can He? Continue reading
