A Passage To Ponder: Psalm 139:13-16

In recent weeks there has been a backlash and vocal outrage over lawmakers proposing and state legislatures passing bills allowing third-trimester abortions up to the moment of birth. As a result, there are some encouraging signs.

A recent court ruling approved an Indiana law that the sale of aborted baby body parts is now illegal. According to the law, a “person who intentionally acquires, receives, sells, or transfers fetal tissue commits unlawful transfer of fetal tissue, a level 5 felony.” Continue reading

Unique From Day One

Today, January 22nd is the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, when United States Supreme Court struck down protections for babies before they were born.

For the past 45 years, Pro-Life Advocates have organized a peaceful protest in Washington, D.C. Although, most major new media outlets ignored it, this year’s march numbered in the hundreds of thousands.

This year’s theme, “Unique from Day One: Pro-Life is Pro-Science” emphasizes the increased role of medical and technological advances that affirm the pro-life movement. Dr. David Prentice and Dr. Grazie Christie, a Radiologist, joined with Jeanne Mancini, President of “March for Life.” They discussed how this theme embodies the pro-life movement. Continue reading

45 Years of Shame

It was on this day, January 22, 1973, that the United States Supreme Court handed down its infamous decision in Roe v. Wade legalizing abortion. The vote was 7-2. As a result, the state laws against abortion violated the Constitution and were struck down.

Since then almost 60 million babies have been slaughtered upon the altar of “a woman’s right to choose.” Fortunately, women’s pregnancy centers promoting a pro-life agenda, the advance of scientific understanding and use of sonograms has decreased the number of abortions in 2017 to its lowest number since Roe v Wade. Yet, there were still nearly 1 million babies denied the right to life last year. Continue reading

Abortion Euphemisms

abortion.Words Matter

eu·phe·mism

yoo-fuh-miz-uh m

“a mild or indirect word or expression substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.

Last week in Cleveland euphemisms abounded when it came to a discussion of the unpleasant topic of abortion. In an article from the Religious News Service, Trevin Wax noted the repeated use of these euphemisms instead of calling abortion what it is: the murder of unborn children. Continue reading

Women Who Glory In Their Shame

Abortion.Mother.Baby

“I was 29, I was living in Seattle, I was in graduate school, I was dating someone…It was never a question. I got pregnant and I was like, ‘Well, alright, I guess I’m having an abortion,” relates Amelia Bonow in a matter of fact fashion.

Today is the 43rd anniversary of Roe v Wade and the abortion activists are working harder than ever to push back against the Pro-Life movement and make abortion seem like a simple, normal, rational decision that any woman would make. Continue reading

Faith, Forgiveness and Pope Francis

Pope Francis waves as he leaves at the end of his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014. A U.N. human rights committee denounced the Vatican on Wednesday for ìsystematicallyî adopting policies that allowed priests to rape and molest tens of thousands of children over decades, and urged it to open its files on the pedophiles and the bishops who concealed their crimes. Pope Francis is coming to America. He will arrive this afternoon at Joint Base Andrews. Wednesday there will be a welcoming ceremony at the White House where he will meet with President Obama. Thursday he will speak to a joint session of Congress. And Friday he will address the United Nations general assembly in New York.

There is much speculation on what issues the Pope will address. Stephen Moore, a Catholic Consultant to the Conservative Freedom Works Organization offers these suggestions. Continue reading

Newsflash! All Lives Matter.

races babies

“We say so often … do black lives matter? And at the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves, do all lives matter — regardless of race, creed, color, economic status, what profession that person holds? All lives matter.”

The above quote is from an African-American, Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong. It was spoken at a news conference over the week-end following the murder of a Memphis police officer, Sean Bolton, 33, who was shot multiple times Saturday night. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition but later pronounced dead.  Continue reading

An Ignominious Anniversary

ChooseLife.2

Today is the 42th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion. That epic decision has now left over 57 million babies dead. And many women scarred for life. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. And Spiritually.

I agree with Norma McCorvey “I don’t think there is a good reason for an abortion….“It’s not your body, it’s not your choice, because you got that from God. He gave it to you.”

“Who’s Norma McCorvey?”  you ask.  “And what right does she have to say that?” Continue reading
