People are impressed by power. Military might. Political position. Economic Status. Physical strength. All are symbols of power.

Leaders lust for power. In fact, some people so are obsessed with power they will do anything to get it, everything to hold on to it, and are in denial when they are unable to exercise it.

In one of his final acts before leaving office, President Donald Trump issued a proclamation declaring Friday, January 22nd, as “National Sanctity of Human Life Day.”

This celebration of life coincides with the anniversary of Roe v Wade, the Supreme Court’s 1973 landmark decision that allows a pregnant woman to abort her unborn child. Since then over 61 million unborn lives have been snuffed out, according to the American Life League.

“Every human life is a gift to the world,” the President wrote. “Whether born or unborn, young or old, healthy or sick, every person is made in the holy image of God.”

Weekly Recap: December 12-17

Good morning from Beverly Hills, Florida.

“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” started playing the other day on my Sirius holiday channel.  I thought, with 80-degree weather, “not so much.”  Like other parts of the country, even Florida is enjoying unseasonably warm weather. But people still decorate.  Yes, even with snowmen.

It’s also the time of year where we take a holiday break from blogging and repost the top 10 posts for 2021 in terms of reader views.   Tomorrow, we will begin with #10.

With almost 2900 posts, many of our posts from years past still receive many hits.  In fact, the top 3 most-read posts of 2021 were written in past years.  We’ve linked those below.  Of course, this post, with its recap and quick links,  offers you a way to catch up in case you missed any this week. The Ministry of Silence

Ralph and Darlene Burson was an elderly couple who lived next door to the Jacksons–Bill, Sherry, and four-year-old Jason.

A few days after Darlene died, little Jason wanted to go next door to see his friend Mr. Ralph, who was sitting on the back porch. His mother agreed.

When Jason walked up Ralph began to gently shed some tears. Upon seeing this Jason climbed up into his lap.
