Sunday Seed Thoughts: We Need Each Other

Seed Thoughts

Today we hear a lot about inclusiveness in a social or political sense. But it’s important to understand spiritual inclusiveness. The value of each Christian. The role of all members in our church family. The appreciation of everyone’s contribution to our spiritual success.

In a light little ditty, this idea is communicated by an unknown author entitled, “Who Flies the Kite.”

 Who flies the kite?
“I”, said the boy, “It is my joy!
I fly the kite.”

Who flies the kite?
“I”, said the wind, “It is my whim!
I fly the kite”.

Who flies the kite?
“I”, said the string,”I am the thing,
That flies the kite!”.

Who flies the kite?
“I”, said the tail,”I make it sail!
I fly the kite”.

Who flies the kite?
All are wrong.
All are right.
All fly the kite!!!

Who makes the church fly? The preacher? The pastors? The deacons? The young people? The aged?

All are needed. Everyone plays a part. Each individual’s gift and ministry enhances the whole.

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” (Rom. 12:4-6)
