Sunday Seed Thoughts: God Is (4)

Seed Thoughts

Emile Calliet, in Alone at High Noon, wrote, “He who consciously or unconsciously has chosen to ignore God is an orphan in the universe…”

For the past three weeks, we have recognized many of God’s qualities from A-Z. Today, let’s reflect on four more.

Refuge. “the Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed. A refuge in times of trouble. And those who know your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.”– Ps. 9:9,10 (NKJV)

Sovereign. “Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it now I, the Lord? There is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is no one besides me. Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” —Isa. 45:21-22, NRSV

True. “All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.” —Ps 119:160, (NIV)

Near. “The Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.”– Ps 145:18 (NKJV)

Don’t be alone in the universe. Believe in and embrace the God of the Bible. He indeed is an awesome God!

    Dear Preacher Ken,

Just letting you know, that in many instances I have read and been reading so much of your articles in various subjects, and i have shared a few of them in some occasions because they are great blessings to me.

I also remember that in perhaps a few instances I have posted comments and you promptly responded. Indeed, your spending time to reply to them deserves everyone’s respect and appreciation and I will not be ashamed to express my thankfulness.

I will try to be as brief as possible.

I wonder if you have considered the possibility of the National Sunday Law becoming mandatory in the whole of The United States initially and then the whole world. Do you think that we can indeed continue to trust that this government will not eventually find a way impose and enforce its will in violation to what our Constitution so declares to be our inalienable rights? I asked this question based upon the recent passing of the same sex marriage by the Supreme Court and was highly commended by the President. And by this, they are openly declaring that the God whom we worship did not have the correct definition of marriage which is only between a man and a woman. I would really appreciate your input. God bless you and your ministry .

    • Thank you, Don, for reading my blog and for your kind words. I am not familiar with any legislation before Congress regarding a National Sunday law. So, I really can’t offer any comment or opinion on it.
