Greetings from Beverly Hills, FL
Yesterday morning Norma Jean and I were drinking coffee on our pool deck and enjoying a pleasant 68 degrees. She turned to me and wishfully said, “This is nice. Why can’t it be like this all summer?”.
Well it won’t. Temperatures will soon heat up. And the daily rains are coming. It’s called weather patterns. And it’s called change. It reminds me of one sage who quipped, “change is the only constant in life.” Continue reading

Greeting from Beverly Hills, FL
It’s been a wonderful week here in lovely Citrus county. We’re blessed to live here. To bask in the warm sunshine. To enjoy being close to our family. To have an opportunity to minister in the Word. And share these blog posts every day.
However, we realize in the midst of our enjoyment, there is sickness, suffering and death. We learned this week of the passing of a friend from the Kansas City area, Bob Harmon. He was 94. His funeral service is today. And even though his family and friends rejoice in the godly life he lived and the hope in which he died, he will be missed. At the end of this recap is a link to a beautiful tribute written by my friend Roger Shouse. I hope you’ll read it. Continue reading

Each Saturday when I send out this recap, I always include a past post as a bonus. Today’s is from April, 22, 2014, The Preacher’s Perspective on Earth Day. For my preaching colleagues, the 5 points would actually put you on second base for a sermon on stewardship. Continue reading

It’s been a great week. Not just in the many well wishes from our readers for my 75th birthday, but the beginning of my favorite 3 weeks of the year. Yep. March Madness.
Like everyone else, my bracket is busted. Thanks Princeton. Thanks FDU. Thanks Furman. But at least my Indiana Hoosiers won in convincing fashion last night. In spite of all the excitement and activities this week, we’ve managed to post everyday. Including today’s recap. Continue reading

It’s been a good week here in Citrus County. Wonderful, sunny weather reaching the 80’s. Some down time to relax at home. And a reminder in many forms of the bounty of blessings we enjoy.
Tomorrow, I’m looking forward to worshiping with and preaching for the Brooksville Church of Christ at their 11AM worship service. Hope to see a number of our regular readers at that service. Continue reading
