GREAT VERSES OF THE BIBLE: Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews11.1

Everyone has faith. Faith in something. Or faith in someone. A Houston preacher, John Bisagno, put it this way:

“Faith is the heart of life. You go to a doctor whose name you can’t pronounce. He gives you a prescription you cannot read. You take it to a pharmacist you have never seen. He gives you medication you do not understand — and yet, you take it.” Continue reading

GREAT VERSES OF THE BIBLE Psalm 34:8

Psalm34.8

Jan Spencer tells a great story about a seminary who invited a famous liberal theologian be a guest lecturer. He spoke for over two  hours “proving” that the resurrection of Jesus was false.

The professor quoted notable scholars and theological books. He concluded there was no such thing as the historical resurrection,  The religious tradition of the church was groundless, emotional mumbo-jumbo, because it was based on a relationship with a risen Jesus, who, in fact, never rose from the dead. Then he asked if there were any questions. Continue reading
