Word of the Week: Friendship

If you’re on facebook, you have “friends.” But that doesn’t mean you have a friendship with everyone on your list.

“I don’t need to go onto facebook and pretend to have friends I’ve never even met,” observed actress Stephanie Powers. “To my mind, that kind of destroys the meaning of the word ‘friend.’ I take exception to that. Because I value and respect friendship.”

Friendship. Fellowship. Forever.

Norma Jean and I are on the way to a Gospel Meeting in Chillicothe, Ohio, but paused to spend some special time with dear friends, Dave and Nancy Wyckoff in Hillsboro.

The church in Hillsboro was my first “full time’ work as a 22 year old kid, fresh out of college. Brash. Naive. Inexperienced. And idealistic.

The brethren were patient with me and gave me an opportunity to learn, grow and develop some ministry skills. Wednesday night we returned to visit the brethren. Continue reading

The Joy of Friendship and Fellowship

Norma Jean and I enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with dear friends  in Columbia,TN.  We worked together with these good people in the Kingdom for 11 years.  We worshiped together.  Laughed together. Cried together.  Rejoiced together. Ate together. Made memories together.  And now we had an opportunity to spend a little time together on the way to a new and exciting chapter in our lives.  Continue reading
