Friday’s List To Live By #95

Winston Churchill is credited with saying, “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”

Giving is good. It’s God’s will for His people. Giving may include not only our weekly church contribution but charitable organizations, colleges, clubs, foundations, and individuals in need.

Today’s list offers 10 Biblical guidelines for giving

10 GUIDELINES FOR GIVING.

#1 You can’t give what you don’t have (2 Cor. 8:12-13).

#2 Giving ought to be voluntary (2 Cor. 9:7).

#3 Giving should spring from a joyful heart (2 Cor 9:7).

#4 Giving should be according to our ability (1 Cor. 16:2).

#5 People ought to be a priority in giving (Jas. 1:27; Ax 2:32-37; 6:1-6).

#6 Giving is based on our opportunities (Gal. 6:10).

#7 Pressing needs ought to motivate our giving (Titus 3:14).

#8 Giving should cost us something (2 Sam. 24:24).

#9 Purposefully budget your giving (2 Cor. 9:7).

#10 Giving should ultimately glorify God (1 Cor. 10:31).

“Remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive'” (Ax. 20:35).
