Tomorrow’s post will be the final one. Well, at least for the next week. Two or three times a year we take a break from blogging.
This next week is one of those times. Norma Jean and I will be celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary on August 23rd. So it’s a good time to enjoy a little R & R.
Two years ago when we took our anniversary trip, she asked, “You’re not going to do your blog on this trip are you?”
“Uh, no. Of course not,” I confidently replied.
“You’re not going to take your computer, are you?”
As I thought about her question, having the gift of perception, I felt strongly compelled to say, “Absolutely not!”
And so it was.
And it was great.
No email. No blogging. No facebook. No social media.
We continued that “tradition” last year and will this year as well.
It’s good to unplug. Unwind. Relax. Just enjoy being together. And doing whatever you want to do. Even if it’s doing nothing! Although this year’s will be a bit different from past trips. We’re spending the week in Louisiana. Guess why? After a few days with grandson Miles, we plan to getaway and enjoy some of the Cajun Cuisine.
While we’re taking a break, feel free to catch up on past posts. Explore old ones. We have over 1,000 posts categorized under 140 topics. So explore the blogsite. And share with your friends. We’d love to pick up some new readers during our time off.
And until we return to blogging at the end of the month, have a great rest of August.

I remember the day of your wedding very well. Enjoy the time together. I’m glad you had so many years together. A week after your anniversary Carol and I will start our 58th year together.

Congrats – Enjoy you trip together – no texting(especially if you are at the table together – teasing because we see teenagers doing that all the time – but then again you two act like teenagers. HAPPY HAPPY DAY
