Just For Today

RAINBOW

An important word in the Bible is “today.”  “Today if you will hear his voice…”( Heb. 4:17). “Exhort one another daily, while it is called today…” (Heb. 3:13).

Today is important, because it is the only day we have.

One of my favorite authors, anonymous, wrote, “Yesterday is but a dream, Tomorrow is only a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope.”
So…….

Just for today, let me remember who I am.
Just for today, let me thank God for who He is.
Just for today, let me be kind to someone who’s been unkind.
Just for today, let me think positive.
Just for today, let me forgive others’ trespasses.
Just for today, let me love God with my whole heart.
Just for today, let me pause to pray.
Just for today, let me meditate on God’s Word.
Just for today, let me lend a helping hand.
Just for today let me praise a friend.
Just for today, let me smile instead of frown.
Just for today, let me a tell family member how much I love them.
Just for today, let me remember the today is yesterday’s tomorrow.
Just for today. Okay?

Really needed to hear these words today. Thanks for the time you give in sending these words daily.

  2. Thank you for this beautiful reminder. We are all truly blessed to have this day to live.

  3. wonderful “poem” as it is a prayer within itself – I agree with Linda and Brenda, perfect timing for me also, but it’s that how God works?! 🙂

  4. One of the first things a new 12-stepper learns is Just for Today. Sometimes it’s Just for 5 Minutes. If nothing else, that phrase gives a moment of pause, and that may be all it takes to change directions.

  5. It has been a crazy busy week. Focusing on this one today: Just for today, let me smile instead of frown.

  6. I think we all face the challenge of trying to focus on just today rather than everything else our minds do as we travel back and forth from the past and worry about our future. I like where it says in the Bible not to worry too much about tomorrow, since today has enough troubles of its own.

  8. Incredible message! I have recently felt God call me to a ministry of encouraging people to share their testimonies with others; to be that “evidence” in the world so many people are looking for! I also like to encourage them that we can do anything for a day; and if we mess up we can start again tomorrow. If we can strive to be who God called us to be for today. then we can worry about tomorrow tomorrow! Great message Pastor! 🙂
