What a night!  Thunder. Lightning.  And pouring rain.  Based on this week, I think our summer rainy season in Florida has begun. At least I’m saving money on watering my lawn.

Good morning from Beverly Hills,

For those who think Florida is oppressively hot 24/7, 365, this current season is a very sweet time here.  Low to mid-60s in the morning.  Low to mid 80’s during the day.  However, we know that 90+ degree temperatures are coming.  But, it’s pleasant right now.

For the next three weeks, we’re home before we begin a pretty busy summer schedule.  If you’re visiting or in the area of Crystal River, I’ll be preaching at the West Citrus Church on May 15, 22, and 29.  Sunday Bible is @ 9:3o AM and Worship @ 10:30 AM.  Come and join us. Continue reading →

Good morning from Castle Rock, CO

We’re in the Denver area where I’m preaching in a weekend meeting at the Smoky  Hill Church in Aurora.  And enjoyed staying with our good friends Aaron and Kristin Thompson, who were college students when I was preaching in Tampa.

Good morning from Cobbly Nob, Tennesse

We’re in the Smoky Mountains this week outside of Gatlinburg.  It’s a “happy place” for me and Norma Jean.

We have many wonderful memories in the Smokies.  We honeymooned here 54 years ago.  We’ve been here with our kids.  And grandkids.  Two years ago we were “stranded” here for 8 weeks when COVID-19 hit.  Not complaining,  It was a great place to sequester.

Plus we always enjoy seeing our good friends Olie & Mary Williamson and worshiping with the church family in Cosby, where I will be preaching tomorrow.  If you happen to be in the area, come and visit us Continue reading →

Good morning from Temple Terrace, Florida

Norma Jean and I came down to Tampa yesterday and enjoyed a good time with our daughter and grandkids.  We spent the night so we could attend the Florida College play “She Loves Me.”  If you’ve never attended one of their productions, I encourage to you go.  They’re top-notch.

Good morning from Tyler, Texas

Good Morning from Beverly Hills,

Yesterday Norma Jean and I drove our own car to a Doctor’s appointment, then went to the Y to work out.   After that, we went to Winn Dixie to buy groceries.  The shelves were filled with many choices and we bought what we wanted.  After enjoying a BLT for lunch and watching Outnumbered, I did some work that required the use of the internet.  Relaxed a bit in the afternoon.  Cleaned off our pool deck.  Then showered, and went out to eat at one of our favorite area restaurants for a fish dinner.  All of this was done with relative ease and no concern for our safety. Good Morning from Beverly Hills,

This week has been characterized by wide swings, not just of temperatures in central Florida, but of distance traveled in a short period of time, as we made a quick trip to Ohio, but also of emotions as we spoke at the celebration of life service for our long time friend, Dave Wyckoff.  Our blog posts this week reflect those wide swings.    I guess that’s a pretty good snapshot of life, overall.
