“I only need one,” boasted Bill Cosby, as he waited in a small third-floor conference room that he called “my dressing room.”
It is reported that through his recent trial for drugging and raping Andrea Constand, a former Temple University Basketball Manager, that Cosby was confident in a mistrial.

In her book, Settle For More, Megyn Kelly relates a time early in her broadcasting career about a rumor regarding her relationship with Britt Hume, her boss and managing editor of the DC bureau of Fox News.
Radar Online started the story. Kelly was called a “Hume wrecker.” And she was furious. Megyn wrote that there was no romantic relationship between the two of them–“not a single inappropriate or even borderline moment, ever.” Continue reading

I opened my Franklin planner is this morning to this quote of the day by the 18th century German novelist and philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: “There is nothing more frightening than ignorance in action.”
I don’t know the context in which Goethe made this statement. I’m guessing from the social, political or philosophical viewpoint. Whatever the case, many of our problems exist when we blindly move forward without the proper facts or knowledge about what we are doing. Continue reading

Today is a significant day in history.
It was on this day 240 years ago that the Continental Congress formally changed the name of the new nation to be the “United States” of America. This resolution by Richard Henry Lee replaced the term “United Colonies,” which had been in general use, and was so declared on September 9, 1776.
The United States of America speaks to many ideas and ideals. States rights. Independence from tyranny. A Democratic Republic. A more perfect union. Domestic tranquility. The blessings of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Continue reading
