Weekly Recap: July 29-August 2

Greetings from Welland, Ontario, Canada

This is our final post from Welland on this trip.  Tomorrow I will be preaching at Wellandport. Then we leave Monday to be with the brethren in Kingston, Ontario, where I will be preaching at the Limestone church on August 11th.   However, we’re taking the week to get there by visiting Ottawa, Quebec City, and Montreal.  So, we’re looking forward to seeing a different area and culture in Canada.

Our time here has been wonderful.  We appreciate so much the friendship and fellowship of the brethren here in the Niagara region.  As always, the  Wellandport  Church has been our home base.  It is served by three Shepherds, Rob Caldwell, Barry Burns, and Mike Stephens who also labors as their preacher.  They are dedicated men with wives (Sharon Caldwell, Maria Burns, and Sherry Stephens) who help them serve the needs of the church family.  We love them and appreciate the opportunity to minister in the Word for this short time. And we thank each one for their kindness, words of encouragement and gracious hospitality.

This trip also allowed us to return to Jordan, Ontario, and preach one Sunday while their evangelist, Brian Sullivan was away in the states.  As always, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed some special time with our friends John and Ronnet Meebore.  For the first time, we visited the church in Hamilton, Ontario, and enjoyed worshiping with and preaching for these fine folks.  Steve Rudd, who preaches at Hamilton, has a great web site that also offers a church directory to help you find a church when traveling.  We also thank Steve for his gracious hospitality.

While we didn’t make it to the Smithville  Church this year, we were able to visit with some of the brethren and enjoy their hospitality as well.  Thanks, Craig and Robin Fairchild.  And Lisa Hains.
