Admittedly, there’s a lot of junk posted on social media in general, and on facebook specifically. However, there is a lot of good stuff too.
- Reports of conversions to Christ.
- Churches broadcasting Bible classes and sermons.
- News from fellow Christians that’s uplifting.
- Photos of God’s wonderful creation.
- Spiritually thought-provoking conversations.
- Notes of congratulations.
- Encouraging posts that brighten your day.
- Devotional blogs (like ThePreachersWord)
Few, if any, do a better job of constantly posting kind and encouraging thoughts that soothe our souls, as well as challenge us to deeper devotion, and greater faith like my friend and preaching colleague, Wilson Adams. Like this one from a few weeks ago, that’s much needed in these turbulent, trying times.
Faith strong.
In spite of the 24/7 news cycle of fear… Faith strong!
In spite of an upside-down crazy-town world… Faith strong!
In spite of increasing pressure on God believers… Faith strong!
In spite of uncertain times and an anxious world… Faith strong!
In spite of a Sodom culture of moral degradation… Faith strong!
In spite of lawbreaking, fear-mongering, secular believing… Faith strong! If our faith counts for anything, it must count for everything –NOW. Eyes are watching –our kids, our teens, our spouses, our parents, our neighbors, our friends. Do we really believe this faith talk? Do we really believe this God-talk? Do we really believe, or… is it just talk?
If your faith doesn’t count in uncertain times, then your faith doesn’t count.
Either we stand on our faith or we fall (for anything). Remember God’s exhortation to Joshua:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Either you believe that or you don’t.
Faith strong!
Thanks, Wilson.
Let’s all rise to the challenge to “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor.5:7).
