Greetings From Israel

After a very smooth 11 hour fly from JFK and some unexpected adverture on the road to Netanya, this is the view Norma Jean and I woke up to this morning from our hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

For several years I’ve had on my “bucket list” a trip to Israel. Now for the next 10 days, we get to walk where the apostles, prophets, and Jesus walked.

I cannot help but think of God’s call to Abraham recorded in Genesis 12:1. “Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.” Continue reading →

Confidence in Christ

Several years ago I heard a story about a little girl who was unaccompanied on a cross country flight.

Soon after takeoff, the pilot’s voice came on and calmly told the passengers, “We will not be serving the beverages at this time as we are expecting a little turbulence. Please be sure your seat belt is fastened.”

Pretty soon the turbulence increased. Lightning was flashing. Thunder was cracking. And the plane was shaking. Many of the passengers were concerned. The man relating the incident, a veteran of many flights, even confessed, he was feeling some discomfort. Continue reading →

Holy Sex and Unholy Sex

“Why is sex before marriage a sin?” asked Linda, one of our regular readers in response to a recent post.

Linda added, “I can see how extramarital affairs, sex outside marriage can be (sinful).” She further suggested the only dangers to sex before marriage might be “unwanted sexual diseases or an unexpected or unplanned pregnancy.” However, she opined that “thankfully these days many people have access to safe birth control and condoms so they do not have to suffer heart-wrenching punishing consequences.” Continue reading →

The benefits of a regular exercise program are well documented and promoted constantly through TV ads, books, magazines, and social media posts.

Someone came up with a daily exercise for the non-athletic, sedentary person along with the number of calories burned by each activity.

How To Treat Non-Christians

One of our regular readers, Stephen, wrote requesting a post on “how to treat people outside of our Church.”

He further asked, “If we see someone outside the Church being hurt, what does God say that we should do?”

Bachelorette on show’s sexual relations: ‘I can do whatever, I sin daily and Jesus still loves me’

In a new promotional video for the so-called reality show “The Bachelorette” Hannah Brown is talking with contestant Luke Parker, who is telling her what he thinks about sex.

“Let’s talk about sex and how the marriage bed should be kept pure,” Luke told Hannah.
