Fret Not Over Evildoers

This week I’m enjoying what those in the business world and my tax accountant calls “professional development” at the Florida College Lectures. I call it spiritual enlightenment.  The theme, You Are My God, are lessons from the Psalms designed to strengthen and enhance our relationship with God.

Yesterday morning I heard three really wonderful lessons. Ed Harrell spoke from Psalm 31, “Let Me Never Be Ashamed.” This lecture alone is worth the price of  the book. I also heard Edwin Crozier’s masterful delivery of “Hear, O My People” from Psalm 50. If you missed it buy the book and the CD to both read and hear it. Continue reading

God’s World, Word and Worshiper

Yesterday was a rich journey into the Psalms at the Florida College Lectures. It was edifying. Inspiring. And challenging.

Bob Owen answered the question, “Who may abide in Your Tabernacle?” John Gentry addressed Psalm 19, a great lesson on the magnificence of God’s Word. Jeff Wilson studied the Messianic Psalm 22. Don Hooton encouraged the audience from Psalm 27, a message of faith, trust and confidence in the Lord. And Tommy Peeler closed last night with a powerful presentation from Psalm 2 affirming that the Lord rules and reigns today in the midst of an ungodly world. Continue reading

What Is Your Life’s Choice?

You Are My God is the theme of the 2016 Florida College Lectures that Norma Jean and I are attending this week.

A 50 Year Anniversary

Today finds Norma Jean and me in Temple Terrace, Florida, where we will be attending the Florida College Lectures this week.

It’s been an annual tradition for me. This is the 50th  consecutive year I’ve attended what we fondly just call “The Lectures.” Yes, I was only 5 when I attended the first time! Continue reading
