Well, this is my favorite time of year. No—not springtime in Florida. March Madness.

For us basketball junkies, it’s like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July all rolled into one—full of surprises, fireworks, and the hope that your team wins…or at least your bracket survives.

Thanks to so many readers and friends from around the country who reached out yesterday with congratulatory words as I completed another trip around the sun.  As my friend Sharon remarked yesterday, they seem to occur more quickly than they used to!

We feel blessed to enjoy this chapter of our lives and to continue, in some small way, to engage in a ministry that reaches beyond our borders.  Thanks to those who continue to encourage us,  read our blog, and offer opportunities to preach the Word.

Today, February 28, 2026, a rare “planet parade” occurs, with Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Jupiter appearing in a line along the ecliptic in the western sky shortly after sunset. Best viewed 30-60 minutes after dusk, this alignment allows for viewing most planets with the naked eye, though Uranus and Neptune will require binoculars. Continue reading →

We’re still in TT following the lectures and participating in some “Golden Grad” functions for those of us who graduated from Florida College 50 years ago or longer.

This little school on the banks of the Hillsborough River holds a special place in our hearts.  It’s where Norma Jean and I met.  If not for coming to FC, we wouldn’t have enjoyed 58 years of marriage together.  Here, we made friends who have developed into lifelong relationships.   Bible professors and other teachers at FC helped shape my life and provide a spiritual perspective that I doubt would have been possible anywhere else.  So, it’s very special to return. Relive precious memories, Reconnect with old friends.  And find renewal and spiritual refreshment in our fellowship and the unique lectures each year. Continue reading →
