Eliminate any Hint of Sexual Impropriety

As we continue our holiday break and reblog the top 10 posts of 2017 based on reader views, this one ranked #5. In view of recent revelations regarding sexual misconduct this is worth reading again.

In her book, Settle For More, Megyn Kelly relates a time early in her broadcasting career about a rumor regarding her relationship with Britt Hume, her boss and  managing editor of the DC bureau of Fox News.

Radar Online started the story. Kelly was called a “Hume wrecker.” And she was furious. Megyn wrote that there was no romantic relationship between the two of them–“not a single inappropriate or even borderline moment, ever.”

The world won’t end (Saturday), “but the world as we know it is ending,” David Meade, told the Washington Post in a recent interview.

Meade is a self-described “specialist in research and investigations.” Apparently, his doomsday claim has some people nervously eyeing tomorrow, September 23, 2017, as the beginning of catastrophic events that will begin to befall Earth. His claims have been reported in Newsweek, Fox News, the Huffington Post and several other media outlets.

Adam Lyons says he’s “the luckiest man alive.” Why? Because the Londoner living in Austin, Texas,  shares his life with two girlfriends, Brooke Shedd and Jane Shalakhova who are bi-sexual.

Lyons, the father of Shedd’s, 2 year old , Dante, is now expecting a baby boy with Shalakhova. The May 18th New York Post article extols their relationship called a “throuple.” The three share parenting duties as well as the same bed. They’re quoted as saying “For us, three definitely works better than two.”

“Who made off with Jesus?”

“Who made off with Jesus?”

This question was the lead sentence in a New York Times story several years ago. It seems that thieves broke into the building of the “Church of the Holy Cross” in Midtown Manhattan and stole a 200-pound plaster image of Jesus. It had been removed from a wooden cross that hung near the entrance of the building. Continue reading

Lessons From A Day of Infamy

It was 76 years ago that early on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, Japan attacked our naval and airbase at Pearl Harbor. It was a surprise and unprovoked attack that propelled the USA into World War II. President Franklin D. Understanding Yourself

A crowded Southwest flight was canceled because of a mechanical problem.  A single gate agent was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers.

Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, “I HAVE to be on this flight,”

The agent replied, “I’m sorry, sir. I’ll be happy to try to help you, but I’ve got to help these people first, and I’m sure we’ll be able to work something out.” Continue reading

WORD OF THE WEEK: OPPORTUNITY

P. R. Van Gorder tells the story of a sculptor who was showing a visitor some marble figures displayed in his studio.  One unusual sculpture caught the guest’s attention. It had two peculiar features. Where the statue’s face normally would have been, the sculptor had chiseled a covering of hair, and on both feet were wings.

It speaks to the power of thought.  The importance of putting into our minds good, wholesome and positive thoughts. And how our thoughts form our character.  Allen says, “thought and character are one.”
