This has been an interesting week of reflection and celebration, with Labor Day and 9/11 falling in the same week this year.
No matter the challenges, problems, and shortcomings we face, we’re reminded that we have much to be thankful for in America. I’m reminded of Jesus’ words in Luke 12:48: “To whom much is given, much is required.” This speaks to the need for personal accountability, faithful stewardship of our resources, and diligence in our ministry. (Hmm, sounds like a =future blog post, or 3-point sermon)

Twelve years ago we were publishing a column, It’s Friday! But Sunday’s Coming! For over three years we published it every Friday. Several have told me that they’ve used the posts for Lord’s Supper table talks. It’s still widely read, especially on the weekends.
Fourteen years ago today, this post was published under the column, Remembering A Day of Evil. In view of yesterday’s remembrance of 9/11, I think this is an appropriate post to consider. Again.
