With this weekend’s July 4th holiday, we’re taking a blogging break. Sorta.
While I’m not publishing our usual Facebook Friday today or providing a weekly recap on Saturday, I am sharing something I think you’ll enjoy.
Over the years, we’ve published several posts about our nation from a spiritual perspective. In honor of America’s 250th birthday, here are three previous posts—with live links for easy access—for your reading pleasure this holiday weekend.
We also realize many of our readers live outside the United States. These reflections are not intended to suggest America is without flaws. Rather, they acknowledge that both our nation and each of us have room to grow spiritually.
I hope you’ll find these posts helpful, challenging, and spiritually uplifting.
What Can the Righteous Do? was my first July 4th blog, written in 2012. Based on Psalm 11:3, it addresses the challenges facing our nation and offers five practical suggestions for righteous living.
Reflections on America’s Birthday, written in 2015, is based on 2 Chronicles 7:14. It is a thoughtful, reflective appeal for repentance and a renewed commitment to God.
Let Freedom Ring, published five years ago, reflects on our nation’s religious heritage while reminding us that our greatest freedom is the spiritual liberty we enjoy in Jesus Christ.
