Like most years 2023 has brought a mixture of joys and sorrows; smiles and tears; and success and failure. However, a balanced view regards the year as mainly one of joy, smiles, and success.
As most of our regular readers know we resigned from full time local work in 2018, but have not retired from preaching, teaching and writing. For almost 3 years we traveled full time, combining it with ministry opportunities. That period took us to 38 states, 10 countries, and 48 congregations.
It’s hard to believe but this coming February will be our 3 year anniversary of buying a home and living in Beverly Hills, Florida. We have, however, been blessed with a wonderful year of travel, as well as preaching and teaching opportunities.
Our travels this year have taken us to 14 different states, 11 congregations and another wonderful visit to our brethren in Ontario, Canada, where we worked with the Wellandport church in July. When home, we worship with and preach most Sundays at the West Citrus Church in Crystal River. We are thankful for the opportunities to minister in the Word. And look forward to what 2024 has to offer.
ThePreachersWord passed a milestone of 3500 posts since we began 12 years ago. We’ve been viewed in over 200 countries and territories around the world. Following the United States, the top 5 countries accumulating the most hits are the Philippines, Nigeria, India, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
We just concluded reblogging the top 12 posts published in 2023. If you missed those posts, you can click here to see them. Interestingly, we have so many posts that the top read posts of 2023 were published in past years.
The top four were:
Attributes of God from A-Z published in August 2018 from Athens, Greece
This, Too, Shall Pass also published in 2018
7 Names for Jesus in John 1 posted in October of 2020
4 Lessons Learned from the Titanic posted and published in April of 2016
While we are still finalizing our 2024 travel schedule, if there is some way in which we can serve your local congregation, please let us know. And we will be glad to accommodate your request if possible.
Norma Jean and I are thankful for the measure of health which we enjoy. And thank the Lord for the opportunities with which He has blessed us. And we thank you for your kind words, encouragement, and prayers.
For whatever good we’ve accomplished in the past year or achieve in the future, “to God be the glory.”
–Ken Weliever, The Preacherman

I have so enjoyed your posts. It is obvious that you are an outstanding Bible student but are also well read in secular material. I enjoy the stories and quips you write about and then make very clear biblical application. Best wishes for good health and continued good in His kingdom.
