Since tomorrow is a US holiday, Independence Day, and this past Saturday here in Ontario was Canada Day, celebrating their founding as a country, we’re taking a couple days off. But here’s a reblog from 9 years ago, that speak to issues both countries face.

Tomorrow is Independence Day–the day we celebrate American’s freedom from Great Britain. On July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, 56 courageous men signed the Declaration of Independence.
While the signers held varying religious beliefs, they were believers in God. This grand document is not only a revered part of our history, but the foundation of our republic. The Declaration has five references to God—two in the first paragraph, one in the middle, and two in the last.

Greetings from Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada
Our much anticipated return to Canada is now a reality. We arrived late afternoon on Thursday. Our trip was smooth. And without any problems. Plus we are here in time to join with our Northern friends in celebrating Canada Day today.
