“My mom used to send me to birthday parties with no present, just so I could eat. I definitely got to a point where I understood and was embarrassed as h—,” she recalls. Continue reading

Stop Wishing. Start Doing.

“I wish I was a better Christian,” is a refrain I’ve often heard from fellow Christians.”

Sometimes, it goes like this. “I want to be a better Christian.”

Yet, the wishes and wants don’t always translate into action and change. Continue reading

10 Things That Require Zero Talent

Success in any life endeavor is almost always equated with talent.

This is often true in the sports world. However, the team with the most talent doesn’t always win. In sales and marketing, less talented individuals often out perform their more talented counterparts. Some times the person with the highest IQ underperforms and others with less innate natural ability excel in their educational and academic pursuits.

Why?

I think my facebook friend and sister in Christ, Debbie Sullins Billingsley, offered the answer in a recent post. Continue reading

Not All Scientists are Evolutionists

Not long ago my Canadian facebook friend, Rob DE Man, posted a quote from the renowned physicist, David Berlinski. It’s from his book “The Devil’s Delusion: Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions.”

Berlinski, who appeared in Ben Stein’s 2008 documentary, Expelled, which exposed the silencing of educators who questioned the theory of macro evolution, has long been a fierce opponent of the Darwinian theory. Continue reading

Who’s Going To Do The Work?

I came across this piece on a church facebook page a few weeks ago. I had to chuckle because it’s a version of an old article seen in church bulletins years ago.

In fact, it’s so old that I doubt any of our younger readers have ever seen it. And for that matter, maybe even most of our older readers.

It’s supposedly a letter to the preacher from an anonymous member. Continue reading

Jim Rohn is an American author, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker. His simple, down to earth, even folksy method of communication has inspired audiences for decades.

While Rohn’s writings and speech focus on self improvement, leadership, communication and goal setting, there’s definitely a spiritual basis and application in much of his material.
