Conservative columnist, Cal Thomas, just released his Thanksgiving column entitled, “Giving Thanks When I Don’t Feel Like It.”

The column reminds us that Abraham Lincoln issued his Proclamation of Thanksgiving in 1863. It was in the midst of the Civil War. Our nation was divided between North and South. Families were fractured. Even some churches were torn apart with different opinions. Continue reading

The Chinese philosopher, Confucius, is well known for his wise sayings and teaching regarding personal morality and social relationships.

One of his disciples was Zeng Shen, who is relatively unknown today, but earned high praise from the ancient sage.

Zeng Shen is said to have ended each day with 3 questions for personal introspection. Though he lived some 2400 years ago, they are good questions for us today and actually have a Biblical basis. Continue reading

The Heart of Christianity

On Jason’s first day of school, the class was asked to stand, place their right hand over their heart and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

The teacher, Mrs. Jones, watched the children as they began, “I pledge allegiance to the flag….” when she noticed Jason had his right hand over his left ear. She stopped and said, “Jason, put your hand over your heart.”

According to a lengthy article by Philip Cheung for Time.com, Johnson, a multimillionaire tech entrepreneur swallows 111 pills a day. Sleeps in a laser-face-shield for collagen growth and wrinkle reduction. And has spent in excess of $4 million developing a life-extension system he calls “Blueprint.” Continue reading

Stop Saying “Biological Women”

 

We have to stop using the term “biological woman,” opined Riley Gaines, the former University of Kentucky swimmer in a recent speech to the Family Research Council, as reported by Ryan Foley in the Christian Post.

Gaines’ world was turned upside down just over a year ago when a 6’4″ male, who now identifies as a woman, was allowed to compete in an NCAA championship swimming event.

William Thomas, who had been swimming on the University of Pennsylvania men’s team, now known as Lia, tied Riley for 5th place in the women’s event. However, the NCAA officials were instructed to award Thomas the trophy. Continue reading

The article states that many who reach this milestone often credit their positive attitude for their longevity.
