Weekly Recap: January 25-30

Greetings from Beverly Hills, FL

Besides politics, the news headlines this week and weekend are all about the weather.  Especially records lows in Florida, reaching as far as Miami.  It reminds me of a quip often attributed to Mark Twain but actually written by his friend and collaborator, Charles Dudley Warner,  “Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.”

However, the Bible offers Believer’s a different perspective to consider when we grip about the weather.

  • Job 37:6–13 says that God directs snow, rain, storms, and sunshine for His purposes.
  • Psalm 135:6 affirms that God brings clouds, lightning, wind, and rain at His will.
  • Jeremiah 10:12–13  reminds us that God controls thunder, rain, and wind as Creator.

Hmm, maybe we shouldn’t complain so much; instead, we should give thanks to God in all circumstances.

Today’s post is a recap of the past week’s posts. It’s a service to our readers in case you missed one.  Also, it’s an easy way to share ThePreachersword with family, friends, and brethren via email or social media.

Next week, we will be attending the Florida College Lectures in Temple Terrace, Florida.  So, we may not be posting every day.  We shall see.  We do hope to see many of our readers at the Lectures.

Have a great day, and a wonderful weekend.

God Bless,

Ken

Today’s #2016Throwback post from January 2016 is  7 Suggestions for Building Better Relationships.  It’s based on an observation by my friend John Shirley about a post honoring Harry Pickup, Jr.  Those who knew bro. Pickup will especially enjoy this trip down memory lane.
