WordPress, the platform we use for ThePreachersWord, has a daily writing prompt on its dashboard for bloggers.
A couple days ago the prompt asked, “What One Word Describes You? Here are some of the answers, ranging from insightful, to amusing, to sad.
Intentional.
Resilient.

Damaged.
Several people who answered admitted that choosing one word was difficult, if not impossible, so they offered two or three words.
How would you answer the question?
But before you do, consider these one word descriptions of some of God’s greats.
Abel=Righteous.
Noah=Just.
Abraham=Faithful.
Joseph=Forgiving.
Moses=Meek
Joshua=Conqueror.
Hannah=Prayerful.
David=Courageous.
Solomon=Wisdom.
Jeremiah=Tenderhearted
Daniel-Committed.
Mary, Mother of Jesus=Humble.
Peter=Enthusiastic.
Barnabas=Encourager.
Timothy=Loyal.
Paul=Zealous.
John=Loving.
Of course, we can think of Bible characters with totally opposite descriptions
Cain=Disobedient.
Esau=Profane
Pharaoh=Stubborn
Korah=Rebellious.
Balaam=Greedy
King Saul=Self-Willed
Jeroboam=Idolatrous
Nebuchadazzar=Prideful
Jezebel=Wicked
Herod=Corrupt
Pilate=Coward
Pharisees=Hypocrites
Diotrephes=Self-Seeking
Judas=Betrayer
Demas=Traitor
Now, as you look at these lists, how would you describe yourself?
Hopefully, you would pick a positive word that imbibes the character of Christ. Of course, if you were to describe your character, behavior, ambition and goals, it could be simply stated in the all encompassing word “Christian.”
I asked Google AI, “What is a Christian?” Here’s the answer.
“A Christian is, in essence, a follower of Jesus Christ, someone who believes in and strives to live according to the teachings and example of Jesus, seeking to embody love, compassion, and faith in their daily lives.”
To further expand on that definition study the life of Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. See how He treated people. Read what he taught about forgiveness. Look at his relationship with the Father. Observe His zeal in ministry. And recognize His example of self-sacrifice.
So, could “Christian” be the one word to describe you?
