Greeting from Beverly Hills, FL
We’re home after a wonderful week with the brethren in Huntington Beach, California. It was good to be with Joe Griffin, who preaches for the Huntington Beach Church and his wife Debbie. We not only made new friends, but were able to meet some of our readers of ThePreachersWord and see some other friends of bygone days visiting from other congregations. We feel blessed as we continue to travel and minister in the Word as the opportunities are offered.
We’re home now for 4 weeks until we leave again for our annual Fall trip to the Smoky Mountains, where I will be preaching at the Cosby Church, October 20 and 27 Following that we are looking forward to returning to the West Main Church in Lewisville, Texas, for a Gospel Meeting, November 3-6.
As usual, our Saturday post is a recap of the past week’s post to provide an opportunity for you to catch up in case you missed a post. Also there is a bonus post from 6 years ago.
Have a great day. And a wonderful weekend.
God Bless,
Ken
Going Above and Beyond to Do Good
2 Corinthians 4:1-6: Motives for Ministry
Six years ago today we attended the Florida College Leadership Dinner and heard J. C. Watts. From that speech birthed this blog post, “That’s Just the Way I Am.” It speaks to a human weakness of justifying our behavior and not accepting personal responsibility. Undoubtably, most of our newer readers have never read this post. And if you read it six years ago, well…you could probably benefit from reading it again,.
