National Day of Prayer 2024

Today is the “National Day of Prayer,” which originated and is observed by an act of Congress on the 1st Thursday in May each year.

The theme this year is “LIFT UP THE WORD–LIGHT UP THE WORLD.  It is based on 2 Samuel 22:29-31

29 You are my lamp, O Lord;
the Lord turns my darkness into light.

30 With your help I can advance against a troop;
with my God I can scale a wall.

31 “As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is flawless.
He is a shield
for all who take refuge in him.

Sexual Revolution in the Methodist Church

The General Conference of the United Methodist Church is meeting this week in Charlotte, N.C. to enact new legislation which will separate sexual relations from the marriage union.

In an post by Mark Tooley on the Juicy Ecumenism website and reposted on World.org he writes, “delegates by wide margins are disconnecting sex from marriage or even monogamy. Until now, the United Methodist Church officially taught that “sexual relations are affirmed only with the covenant of monogamous, heterosexual marriage.” Continue reading
