Recently I heard my good friend, Steve McAllister, who preaches at Northside Church in Pompano Beach present a lesson on spiritual growth. At the conclusion of his lesson, he quickly made a point that not all growth is good. Then bulleted some passages proving that point.

“Growth is a fundamental aspect of life. We begin to grow and develop physically, mentally, and emotionally from the moment we are born,” wrote author, speaker, and host of the podcast Passion Struck, John R. Miles. “As we progress through life, we seek new experiences and challenges that help us grow and develop as individuals.”
In addition to the areas Miles mentioned, God also wants us to grow spiritually. This is necessary to becoming a well rounded person, to achieve your purpose in life, and to reach your full potential.
The Bible says that “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Lk. 2:52). Continue reading

Not long ago my Canadian facebook friend, Rob DE Man, posted a quote from the renowned physicist, David Berlinski. It’s from his book “The Devil’s Delusion: Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions.”
Berlinski, who appeared in Ben Stein’s 2008 documentary, Expelled, which exposed the silencing of educators who questioned the theory of macro evolution, has long been a fierce opponent of the Darwinian theory. Continue reading

Recently the Houston Texans defeated the favored Cleveland Browns in the NFL playoffs. Following the game, Texas rookie quarterback C. J. Stroud was interviewed and began with these words:
“First and foremost, I just want to give all glory and praise to my Lord, Jesus Christ.”

The late Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant was one of the best players in professional basketball. His workout regimen was legendary and his dedication to the fundamentals of the sport was uncompromising.
The story is told that Nike sent Alan Stein, Jr to witness one of Bryant’s workouts. When he arrived at 4:00 am, Kobe was already dripping with sweat with a warmup before the workout. For the next 45 minutes Stein watch Bryant work on basic basketball drills. Continue reading

Our temperature in Central FL has turned cooler, according to our local weather reporter because of a “blast of artic cold air coming down from Canada.” (Thanks a lot, my Canadian friends!) So, we had to go south where it’s 25 degrees warmer.
